Swinging for the fences in downtown Louisville

On the last of our family field trips along Museum Row on Main Street in downtown Louisville, my son London and I made it to the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory. The Hillerich & Bradsby company created this tourist attraction in 1996 and since then over 3 million people have visited, including the Girton boys.

Inside, you’ll find tributes to the great baseball players and their favorite instrument of competition, the Louisville Slugger. We got a chance to see the museum and all the displays, some of which you’ll see pictured in the gallery below. We took the tour as well but, since photography isn’t allowed there, you won’t see any photos. However, when you visit, take the tour. To see a hunk of ash become a baseball bat is one of the coolest things you’ll see.
