SKETCHBOOK: Behind the Scenes at Madame Trousseau

This past Thursday, the Voice-Tribune sent me to cover the grand opening for Madame Trousseau’s Bridal in the Henry Clay building in downtown Louisville. I’m always excited to see what’s happening at elegant affairs like this.

FOOTBALL: Fairdale at Valley

The Fairdale Bulldogs traveled to South Louisville’s Viking Harbor to take on Valley High School. Unfortunately for the Dawgs, they ended up leaving with a lopsided loss 39-19. It gave the Vikings a chance to avenge last year’s loss which should have been a win.

SKETCHBOOK: CQ Jam for WaterStep

Over the weekend, I had the chance to cover the CQ Jam for WaterStep for the Voice-Tribune. It had everything and by that I mean it had people donating to charity, live music and torrential rain.

FOOTBALL: Valley at Moore

Friday night ended up being a long one for the Valley Vikings as they traveled to Moore High School and left with an L 40-37 on an entertaining and potentially winnable game. In fact, the Vikings were the favorite going in and during the first half were rolling with offensive and defensive scores.

Becoming Uncle Tim

It’s happened so much now that I’m starting to think it’s a trend. I’ve been lucky enough to have great photo clients who, in turn, have great kids. During photo shoots, since I’m just a bigger version of a kid, we always have an amazing time. 

FOOTBALL: Valley at Iroquois

The Valley Vikings took the momentum they gained from last Friday’s Atherton victory over the Iroquois High School to see how they would fare against the Raiders. Turns out, they ended up with more of the Big Mo as they tore apart Iroquois 46-6.

Louisville had a Flugtag and we had a Blast – and a Splash

The Red Bull promotion apparatus invaded Louisville’s Waterfront Park for a flugtag. I know. The first question that pops up for those that don’t know is: what the heck is a flugtag. Translated from the German, flugtag means “flying day” so that’s what we had just off shore in the Ohio River. Except every homemade contraption that was built to compete had to be human powered and launched from a 22 feet high flight deck.

Football: Atherton at Valley

Valley High School head football coach Alan Campos and his 2016 Vikings hosted their home opener last night looking for this season’s first win. For Campos, he also wanted his first win as the man in charge, moving up from the assistant ranks this year.

Football: Valley at Pleasure Ridge Park

Football season in the Jefferson County Public School system opened last night with games all across the city. The one I paid attention to involved my son London. He’s a Valley Viking and they played arch rival Pleasure Ridge Park in hostile territory. The outcome didn’t work out in the Vikings favor and, as a fan, you could see some unfairness going on but my fellow football parents and I had to chalk it up to home field bias. PRP got to keep that snowman that they play for by winning 32-0.
