So it was a few short years ago when the first non-white president was in office. He was smart, articulate and generally had a good heart until he showed some signs of corruption around the edges due to the insane amount of bribery in politics. Mostly a good guy.

As the guy that wants to be the photographer you think about when you think about Louisville image makers, particularly in Old Louisville, I’ve vowed to make it a point to go on a few walkabouts in the neighborhood. It’s so diverse that there’s always something that will get your interest.

SKETCHBOOK: Chatting With Dad

On Saturday, our friends Megan and Jonathon made the short trip to Old Louisville to get some photos with their three-month-old son Mason. As you know, the weekend was sunny but cool however, Mason was an awesome subject and his parents weren’t so bad themselves.

SKETCHBOOK: Whitney & Jaxon in Old Louisville

So, as mentioned in my last post, I’ve been making photos of Whitney and Jaxon for a few years and so has Misty. But, if I’m not mistaken, this is the first time we’ve done them in Old Louisville. And I have to tell you, I love them and I love Old Louisville, so it’s a match made in heaven.

SKETCHBOOK: Social Media Likes

I don’t have any empirical evidence of this, but I can almost guarantee to have more social media likes and get a new follower or two based on the fact that I am publishing a photo of a pretty girl.

SKETCHBOOK: Walk the Dinosaur

Because I’m the old guy, when Jaxon came over for his photo shoot and brought his dinosaur, the whole time, my head rang with, “Open the door/Get on the floor/Everybody walk the dinosaur.” Thankfully, I didn’t say it out loud. I think Jaxon would have just stared at me and tried to figure out what the heck was wrong with me.

So Misty and I were thinking, what do you do when you have a photo shoot with active twin boys? You let them be boys and hope you, as a photographer, can keep up. As the photographer, I can tell you, it was as fun as it was challenging.
