Two Infinity and Beyond

Part two of my grandson Jeremiah’s two year old birthday celebration was at the Newport Aquarium and he had a big time. My favorite part is how he likes to laugh when my camera is pointed at him. He’s decided that’s the easiest way to bring up that million dollar smile. So I kept getting shots like this.

Babies Are Wonderful. Grandbabies Sure Are, Too

Most of my published photos of Jeremiah, my grandson, have so far been posted at my mobile photography blog PXLpeep as an ode to my newly re-energized passion for mobile phone photography thanks to the Google Pixel phone. Continue reading “Babies Are Wonderful. Grandbabies Sure Are, Too”

This. Kid. Right. Here.

There’s a part of the Tao that I was reading today and it reminded me of my son London because it describes his personality. He’s never read the Tao and at this point of his life, he’s not even interested in it, but part of it is in him nonetheless. Continue reading “This. Kid. Right. Here.”

Birthday Mini with Mia

As you can see from the cover photo of this entry, Mia is one heck of a happy personality and her joy is contagious. She exudes fun and the whole time we did her two-year-old birthday mini-session, she was a breeze to work with. As you’ll see from the photos, it was nothing but good times. Continue reading “Birthday Mini with Mia”

Spending the Day with Jaxon

It seems like it wasn’t that long ago that Jaxon and I collaborated on photos when he was just one year old. I chased him around the University of Louisville campus before he slowed down enough to do some of that fun smash cake stuff that we all love. So a couple of weeks ago, we met Jaxon and his mother Whitney at Farnsley-Moreman Landing for another photo session – including more chasing. Continue reading “Spending the Day with Jaxon”

Tonika Turns Four

I always enjoy a photo shoot with kids involved. It gives me a chance to turn on the Uncle Tim persona and attempt to get some real, genuine laughter and expression for the kids involved. Of course, they have the “cheese” face, which is what all of us have been told to mimic for as long as I can remember, whether being in front of or behind the lens. But when a kid shows real fun, those are the best. Tonika gave that to me in bunches. Continue reading “Tonika Turns Four”

Years in the making with Makenna

Makenna by Tim GirtonIt took a while, but I finally got a chance to shoot photos with the lovely Makenna. And it started before she was even born. But look at that face and that expression. How blessed am I to be able to capture that cuteness. Continue reading “Years in the making with Makenna”

Forcing variety can be a good thing

PDJ-05

Once upon a time when I was a photographer in search of a style, I forced myself to think about and perform photography every single day in something that, at various times, was called the Daily Photo Project or Photo du Jour. The object was to get out of cliched shots like Continue reading “Forcing variety can be a good thing”

How I got a new BFF in less than an hour on Main Street

Bovinet Maternity by Tim Girton

I talk a lot about being the “Baby Whisperer” because I have a relatively easy time establishing a rapport with the young people in front of my lens. It happens to differing degrees but I honestly can’t think of one child I’ve ever had trouble reaching. Then there’s a cutie named Kaylee. Continue reading “How I got a new BFF in less than an hour on Main Street”
